Secondary images are smaller, less significant images. They help to promote other images on the front cover, this shows readers what else to expect in the magazine other than the main article. Most readers are enticed by pictures rather than coverline text.

Coverlines are placed in various places on a front cover, they tell readers about specific articles they'll find. They're usully 6-12 coverlines, this lures people into different aspects of the magazine.
